The County Merit congratulations to Katie Lang for winning the County Merit. From the reports I got she played well all afternoon. Congratulations also to the runner-up Jo Ulfig and to the losing semi-finalists Leanne Attwood and Jo Webster who all qualify for the BCGLBA finals on Saturday 11th July at Bylet BC, Bridgnorth. Good luck girls.
County Doubles will be held at Cradley Heath Libs on Sunday 5th July 2pm start.
County Game v North Shropshire 28th June
I don’t know what to say other than " we were awesome!! " At home on the George we had just 2 losers, best cards Kaye 21-7 and Ann 21-9, and we had a great win of 60 shots. Away we started off like a bomb with all winners in the first 4 where we also had our best cards - Rachel 21-9, Katie 21-9 and Mandy 21-10 . At this stage we were 39 up and the N Shrops ladies were in shock, never recovering from our great start. We only had 3 losers away, a 19 and two 20’s and won by an amazing 60 shots , giving an overall , spectacular win of 121 shots!! This is our best win to date and only the second time we have won by over 100.
I must also congratulate both Katie Lang and Karen Green on their debut game, with both girls winning - well done.
Proposed change to County Colours from 2010
At the AGM it was proposed that we change our County Colours from the 2010 season from navy and orange to all black (or at least black trousers as these are easier to find). This will be voted on at NEXT year's AGM, but in the meantime I would like everybody to think about what colours would work best. I have had a few emails from you (not as many as I would have hoped) but we do have 10 different colours suggested, and everybody who emailed wanted to change to black trousers.
